Patrick Modiano Won 2014 Nobel Prize In Literature
French author Patrick Modiano has won the 2014 Nobel Prize In Literature. The Swedish Academy on 9 October awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature to the French author “for the art of memory with which he has evoked the most ungraspable human destinies and uncovered the life-world of the occupation”. Last year’s award went to the Canadian short story writer Alice Munro.

Veteran Journalist M V Kamath Died
Veteran journalist and former chairman of Prasar Bharati MV Kamath, who was one of the earliest biographers of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, died on 9 October. He was 93. Kamath was the Washington correspondent of the Times of India from 1969 to 1978. He was also the editor of Illustrated Weekly of India and has also worked for the Press Trust of India. Kamath was the honorary director of School of Communication, Manipal University since its inception in 1997. He was awarded Padma Bhushan for his contributions to Indian journalism in 2004
